"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People who really want help may attack you if you help them. Help them anyway. Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt. Give the world your best anyway. You see, at the end of the day, it's about your character... it was never about them anyway." ~ MOTHER TERESA.

I like this in particular Quote:
Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway.
I believed in that - and still do. During my career, boy! - were there those that took advantage?
Thanks for sharing that Cinn!

I usually make up my mind about a man in ten seconds, and I very rarely change it.

Maya Angelou & Alice Walker are two of my favorite writers. Alice Walker wrote "The Color Purple". The movie was wonderful, wasn't it? Whoopi & Oprah were SO good. "The Color Purple" movie was based on the book - but Menno Meyjes wrote the screenplay. An excellent book : "The Same River Twice: Honoring the Difficult" - Alice Walker tells about the making of the movie. If you haven't read "The Color Purple", please do. Especially now that you know what the characters look like! Such a good book.

Alice Walker!!! Doh, of course-thanks for that.
Penny, I prefer the get an idea of what characters look like myself-not as the films always portray them, but The Color Purple was very good.
Ophah, Winfrey was brilliant in it too wasn't she.

Joan Baez: It seems to me that those songs that have been any good, I have nothing much to do with the writing of them. The words have just crawled down my sleeve and come out on the page.
