Parsley is quite a tough herb and can stand quite cold weather outdoors, provided it has been well established in the finer Autumn weather.
I planted out this parsley into a pot of compost with some manure added towards the bottom, as parsley can be a greedy feeder. Rather than sowing from seed, I planted out one of those herb pots you find in the super-market - already growing - as parsley from seed takes six weeks to germinate - and some heat!
ATM, it is outside in a state of semi-hibernation. I am hoping it's going to start into lush growth come the finer Spring weather! We'll see! ;D
You can prolong the life of some of those herb pots you buy in the supermarket by planting them out into potting compost and keeping indoors in a sunny spot, making sure to water them, but not too much.

Sounds like that's the plant for me - instead of a green thumb I have two black ones!

My parsley is still looking fresh and healthy but is growing quite slowly. It really needs some warmer weather to rally make a spurt! Patience! Nevertheless progress can be seen.
For a plant that was bought off a supermarket shelf, it can consider itself lucky to have this lease of life! ;D
