The debate as to whether there will be major changes to Earth and Humanity at the winter Equinox 2012 rages on among mystically minded people. It has now entered the consciousness of the general public through the media and films such as 2012.

This is a thought-provoking article on this link. In it, the author muses about what's likely to happen in 2012. Not that anybody seems to know? An interesting read, even to dip into. What impressions, if any, have you gained from reading this? or do you already have some preconceived ideas?

He's a very good writer, agree? I remember hearing about the Mayan calendar a few years ago & now other theories have been made. IMO nothing will happen, but it's fun to speculate & try to figure out what the ancient ideas were about.

So many times we have been prepared for the end of the world - and it was a false alarm. What about the huge worldwide computer crash that was supposed to happen when we moved into the new Millennium?
Re 2012 -I don't think, the actual date itself or the time is so significant - but I think there is huge change worldwide in relation to consciousness - that could be said to centre around the date. IMO, it has been a gradual change that has been building up over a number of years. The world with the spread of information has speeded up so fast due to the advent of technology. Things will never be the same.
Also in the physical world, there is so much happening with all of those earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tsunami's etc. All of these happenings, IMO, bring about huge changes in Consciousness, because when people are hit by major catastrophes, they have to reevaluate how they live. 911 too, even though it was such a horrific event has done a lot to change consciousness too, IMO.

Whisker, I agree with a lot of the above, you speak about. I do think that the biggest change will be peoples thinking. We seriously cannot go on ignoring natural disasters, and thinking we have nothing to do with it.
We have numerous bits of space junk, orbiting our planet, we blast off numerous rockets in the desert, and poison, the earth with oil spills etc.
All this has an effect on the planet, so I feel it is radical thinking, and changes that are going to be made.
As mentioned 911, did change things, but also changed people too, yes it was a horrible thing to happen, people have to change their thinking because of what happened.
I do not feel the world will end, but more we will work more together, I do still feel that something will be discovered, and it will have a big effect on the medical world too, I feel it is a compound with in a common plant, used by all of us.
That is of course, just my thoughts on it.

That's what we like to hear, elaine, - your thoughts! ;D Interesting what you say about this healing compound that will be discovered. Can't come soon enough.
I've heard it said that the speed in which the world has progressed over that last 20 years, or so, equals the sum total of the speed of all the centuries combined that have led up to that. If we have moved that fast in the last 10 or so years, how fast are we going to progress in the next 10, 20 years? The mind boggles.
That's why I think it is very important for each of us to not fall behind re new technologies, because if we do, we will be like be like old relics from the past, lost and living in a different world.

You do have a very good point there whisker, we do have to move with the times, and not stay stuck in the past.

:)Thanks for the comments and the debate on my blog item concerning 2012. I would welcome any ideas that others may have. We are creating our reality so literally, we are making it up as we go along.
Have loads of fun!

Great to see you here, Clive! ;D Have just now spent some time reading your blog. You take very much a global view. There is so much for us to ponder in what you have to say.
Where karma comes into all of the calamities which have happened re several nations in 2011, is something that may be too much for us, as individuals, to consider, IMO.
I'm inclined to think that people take on challenges which they are willing to go through - for the betterment of themselves and mankind. Nowadays, rather than blaming Judas for the death of Christ, some people are beginning to say that Christ had a bigger plan and actively recruited Judas as his helper in bringing that about - so that would put Judas in a totally different light. He would no longer be seen as the traitor, but on a higher level than the other apostles, in that he was working on a closer level with Jesus than any of them were.
Your observations, Clive, are fascinating. Thanks for your contributions to that changing of global consciousness that is taking place all around us at this time. ;D
Next, I intend reading what you have to say re President Obama. It was one of our highlights last Summer when he visited Ireland, just a week after Queen Elizabeth, as it happened. It was amazing to us to hear both of them speak the Irish language. But that's another story!

:Thanks for checking out my blog, whisker. I hope that you enjoy the read. I write as my intuition speaks to me. Sometimes I upset people. that is not my intention. It would be good if even one person in the world had their own insight from my scribblings. It is important that we think for ourselves and do not just accept the status quo.
It is interesting what you say about Judas and Jesus. I read a book some years ago concerning the idea that Judas was a great soul who assisted jesus by betraying him. I have the book title at home. I will post it if you are interested when we return from Mexico. We are visiting my wife´s family right now. I hope that I have posted this in the right place for you to receive it;)

Yes, Clive, I have received this! Interesting that you have a book about the role Judas played and the significance of his character.
I envy you in Mexico at this time of the year. It must be warm there.
Like you, I trust my intuition a lot. Especially where my health is concerned, I will go by "gut feeling" rather that what the doctor orders, if I feel strongly about it. I think it's a sign of a good doctor when they can respect the patient's intuition and not take it as an insult to their ego. But I'm straying off the point. ;D
Re your "scribbles". They don't come across to me as scribbles - your blog looks so orderly and beautifully presented. I know what you mean, though, by using that word. Am looking forward to hearing more from you, Clive. ;D

:)Good afternoon, Whisker. Yes, the weather is warm here in ixtapaluca, Mexico. We have had a good rest for the last three weeks. We fly back to England on Jan 3rd. Jaq to her job in the pension industry, me to proof-read a third co-written book with friend Pete Haines then on to my day job of teaching chi gong and other odds and ends. I am becoming a little itchy. I need to be busy again. You are lucky if you find a doc. who is sensitive to intuition. After a discussion with one she told me sharply that she was a scientist. That shut me up. have a great New year.

Hi, Clive! Sounds like you have an interesting life! Hey - maybe we could do with a proof-reader here! Most of us, I think are a bit dyslexic! Certainly I am! ;D
Have just PM-ed you to let you know I have put up another board under Spiritual, entitled Metaphysical -(possibly Paranormal as well).
I hope to move this thread over onto it. Then we can discuss all these questions and mysteries, that are going the rounds, these days to our hearts' content! ;D
Just a suggestion - maybe you might like to put up a thread introducing yourself to all of the members in the Welcome section.
Happy New Year to You and your wife and Safe Journey back from Mexico!

Looks like the end is near for this little guy. But really how many times have we heard it...many. I figure at some point we will end the planet as we know it on our own. But if not an unknown meteor will come and end it for us. But I think I'll be long gone by then. Lifes to short I don't think I'll worry about it. But please pray for the dog in the picture.
