We owe those poor creatures a huge debt of gratitude for all they've been put through.
It makes your heart sink to see their amazement & excitement - when they should have had that all their lives.
If our positions were reversed, would they have done that to us, do you think?

It makes me cringe to think that those animals ar so close to us in DNA and are such intelligent, sentient beings. A time will come, when history will look back at these practices as resembling something like the dark ages. Just like I always say about radiotherapy too!

Very true, it's barbaric.

Battery hens get a raw deal too. Great when somebody can give them a good home for the rest of their lives.

This is so cruel, no animal should have to be enclosed like this, no animal should have to undergo medical research either, its cruel, barbaric, and outdated.
Free at last, in old age, how can you put in to words how these poor animals must be feeling, their life spent in the hands of man, would you trust humans if you were them?
Plus point, they are now free to enjoy what life they have left.
I don't buy battery hen eggs either, for that reason, cruel, very cruel.
