Bees are one of my passions, but they're horribly difficult to photograph. For every picture I get of a bee,I must have ten of a flower wobbling after the bee's flown away.

Hello Bumblebee, I love your pic, I find Bees fascinating too. It is hard to capture Bees in mid air, so well done for capturing that beautifully.

Despite having been Stung by a bee, I still Love them. It was Pure coincidence that I got stung, but in 1968 while riding a motor scooter on a dual carriageway, with my then Pregnant wife, when I got hit by the bee and stung on the forehead. The crash helmet was high at the front, hence getting hit.
I too have tried to photograph bees, but need a better camera to do it.

These bee photos are lovely,it's so nice to see other people's photos. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust has a facebook page where you can see loads of bee pictures too. I don't have an expensive camera, just a cheap automatic because I couldn't manage a complicated one.

I'm not so well up on bees, I'm afraid. I can recognize bumblebees, honey-bees and wasps - that's about it. Have no idea re the many in-betweeners.

Whisker, that isn't a bad pic at all, dosn't matter what camera you have, all pics are good. I'm not up o all the types of bees, but I have noticed about 5 different ones on the flowers. I do keep thinking I will look them up and find out what they are. I know honey bees, lone bees, and Bumble bees, that's about it too. Bumblebee, do you know all the different types? as we can help each other identifying them.

No sorry I don't know a lot about bees, but if you have a look on the Bumblebee Conservation Trust's website there's information about different types of bumblebees. Also if you have a look on their facebook page I think some people mentioned various guides to bees a little while ago. This little bee is a red-tailed bumblebee. It was enjoying the sunshine in the park today.

I still have my 35mm that takes the old roll film, but have a job to get the photo's with it. All being well, I will get a digital with a Macro lens to enable me to get some Very close photo's.
