Lovely photographs. I would Love to be able to walk some distance again, but the legs tire too easily these days, much to my annoyance. I can't do as much as I'd like when on Bramley Line, because I get too kn*ckered.

That would be really nice, wf! I'm sure where you live you could even go on a barge trip for price without having to rent - and let someone else do the driving!
I went on a barge trip in Birmingham once and when the barge went to turn around it got stuck on weed and the ropes got tangled round the tiller. So the bargeman had to jump out and swim under the boat to get us going again. LOL! You wouldn't want that, would you, wf!

As mentioned, I'd see if trips are run from there. Most of the canals I know do them, and although you have to boo up, they are not that expensive, and can choose several destinations to go too.
It does take the work out of it, and you can just sit back and admire the beautiful views.
I loved looking through those pics. I know this is a while back, but I used to watch" Rosie and jim" with my children when they were small. It was about a guy with two rag dolls who came alive. He used to travel along the canals and to interesting places.
I used to love watching where he went, always wanted to go, but the children were too small then, and it would have been a nightmare with two under 5s on a boat.
It really brings alive the atmosphere, seeing those pics, and I like the lady asleep, with her book. I'd love to walk all along there, or go fishing .
