Those are amazing pics, elaine! especially the one where the squirrel is feeding from your hand. i've never been close to a squirrel, either. Saw a red squirrel, which I believe is quite rare, the day I went to Dargle cottage.

I have a tree full of nuts in my back garden and the squirel is scared to come scrumping as Callum is after him..I just love squirels and hope i can capture him at some stage..I will have to lock Callum inside so he can come and eat..

You did very well with these, wf! You're lucky to have squirrels in your garden.

I bet that Squirrel loves you, with a nut tree in the garden. They are lovely to watch, gathering nuts, and burying them all over the place, or storing them somewhere for later on. Those pics are captured well, as those little creatures are fast as heck. Here is another in St James Park, London. Me Feeding more LOL

The squirel has appeared in my garden its a good job as the nut tree is heaving and i am scared in case Callum or the little dog next door eats the nuts that are falling .I have collected some and will be taking them to the squirels nest down the road..

"Aha, I have nuts, now where do I hide them?" LOL.
"But I will just try them, see if they are ok, before I bury the rest of them".

wf, your Squirrel looks cheeky in the photo, I do think that Squirrels, are becoming very tame, and as you have a nut tree, I bet you will get lots of them in your garden, storing up the nuts for winter.
I do love to go in to the London parks with a huge bag of peanuts. You can let the Squirrels take them out of your hand, or place them on a tree branch, get camera ready, and watch them run down, to get the goodies.
They are fast as heck though, and even on sport mode, it is still tricky to get them.
It is nice though, to see them close up. Has your Squirrel been back wf?
