Had a few days away in E Anglia and on the way back stopped over in Finchingfield Essex, sometimes claimed as the most photographed village in England. Link to album

Looks like a lovely little village!
I think I see the vicar's house. (Any 'Vicar of Dibley' fans out there?)

Finchingfield is a beautiful village, and as a child I came here many ties to feed the ducks. Steelbat, you captured those moments beautifully in the pictures you took.
It really is what I call a chocolate box village, and, it is always clean, tidy, and all villagers are friendly too.
Did you go to one of the tea shops Steel Bat?

We did indeed. The teashop is out of view in the heading photo, a little to the left of the bridge. Wasn't too overpriced considering and had what you might expect with characteristic beam ceilings.

I am glad your day there was a day to remember, and spend enjoying a cuppa too, in that tea shop.

We might come begging one of those pics from you as background for our forum - at a later stage. We spent a lot of time looking for a nice Village Background without much success. But I think we're fine for the moment with the autumnal one we have.
